Oiva Toikka
Finnish design pioneer Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of Iittala glass birds first took flight in 1972. Combining his passion for nature and blown glass art, each bird is unique down to the minute detail. This makes every bird a truly one of a kind art object. Handcrafted and mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory, the collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions and Toikka’s hands-on-approach with his team of master craftsmen. Every bird in Finnish design legend Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of Iittala glass birds has its own personality making it a truly one of a kind art object.
The special edition bird was launched in celebration of the brand’s 140th anniversary 2021. This bird reflects light beautifully, and can change color to a deeper blue depending on a warm or cool light source.
